o Vaultus Raises $4.3 Million in Third Round

New York, NY -- Vaultus, a provider of software that helps companies 
extend existing applications to mobile devices such as PDAs, on 
Wednesday confirmed it has closed $4.3 million in its third round of 
financing. The investor group was not released. The new capital brings 
Vaultus' total take to $57 million in three rounds. Two years ago, Vaultus 
brought in $32 million in funding from a syndicate of venture capitalists led 
by First Union Capital Partners. Vaultus recently introduced a mobile 
application framework that is intended to help software engineers design, 
develop, test and package PDA applications for deployment within a single

o Cablevision Out of Running for DirecTV; News Corp. In?

Bethpage, NY -- Bethpage-based Cablevision Systems Corp. said it is no 
longer interested in pursuing DirecTV. The decision came amid skepticism 
that Cablevision, the biggest cable operator in the New York City region, 
could overcome financial and regulatory hurdles to take over the nation's 
biggest satellite TV provider. With Cablevision out of the picture, News 
Corp. is reportedly close to gaining control of DirecTV parent Hughes 
Corp., in a deal that could be worth as much as $7 billion. Sources said that 
News Corp. is expected to acquire a 35% stake in Hughes at a premium to

o Connecticut Technology Council to Host TecXpo Thursday

New Haven, Conn. -- The Connecticut Technology Council will hold its 
second annual TecXpo on Thursday at the City Field House. More than 750 
attendees and 115 exhibitors are expected, according to the CTC. What is 
being dubbed as a "science fair for adults" will feature large technology 
corporations such as Microsoft, Timex and Oracle as well as small 
companies and start-ups. The TecXpo is open to the public. Admission is 
$50. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

o SEC to Probe Failure of ImClone to Pay Tax on Options

New York, NY -- Securities regulators have initiated a probe into the failure 
of New York-based ImClone Systems Inc. to pay tax on stock options 
exercised by its former chief executive and other officers and directors. 
ImClone, which is attempting with its partner Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. to 
develop the cancer drug Erbitux, said the U.S. Securities and Exchange 
Commission is investigating the implications of the tax issue on the 
company's failure to file its annual report on a timely basis. ImClone on 
Wednesday announced a delay in its earnings report.

Florham Park, NJ -- Florham Park-based Comverge Inc., a producer of 
specialized software and hardware products for energy companies, on 
Wednesday said it had closed on $13 million in private equity led by Nth 
Power. Also investing were E.ON Venture Partners GmbH, EnerTech 
Capital, Shell Internet Ventures and Easton Hunt Capital Partners. Data 
Systems & Software Inc., Comverge's largest shareholder, also participated 
in the round. Comverge also finalized new credit arrangements totaling $6.5 
million. Proceeds from the equity and debt financings will go for operating 
capital.

o Tax Payers Flooding Online Sites as Deadline Looms 

New York -- With the deadline to file taxes looming, more Internet users 
are visiting online tax sites than ever before, according to New York-based 
Nielsen//NetRatings, a provider of Internet audience measurement services. 
More than 22 million Internet users visited a tax web site in February, an 
increase of 15% over the year before. The figure outpaced the 11% growth 
rate of the general finance, insurance and investments category. In all, more 
than 17% of the active online population used the sites to download forms, 
gather information and file their taxes. The Internal Revenue Service led the 
group, attracting 10.1 million unique visitors, a 25% increase from last year, 
followed by TurboTax (6.8 million) and HRBlock.com (3 million).

Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and plans to sell its remaining businesses 
and assets. Last August, the New York-based consumer electronics 
company warned that its losses and debt threatened its ability to remain a 
going concern. Recoton said debtor-in-possession financing has been 
arranged with existing senior lenders, led by Heller Financial Inc. and
