New York, N.Y. -- Proxicom, a web design and Internet consulting firm
based in New York and Virginia, has been acquired by Gores Technology
Group, a Los Angeles-based investment firm, the companies announced
on Friday. Terms were not disclosed. "Proxicom offers Gores a
tremendous opportunity to advance our strategic initiatives in the IT
services sector," said James Bailey, president of operations at Gores.
Proxicom was founded in the early 1990s as one of the first developers of
e-commerce systems and provider of IT integration services.

o Thomson Corp. Acquires Boston-based CCBN

Stamford, Conn. -- The Thomson Corp., a Canada-based provider of
business information with a large U.S. presence based in Stamford and
New York, has acquired Corporate Communications Broadcast Network
(CCBN), a provider of Internet based corporate communication services
based in Boston. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. CCBN's
investor relations web site hosting, webcasting, and disclosure services
are used by corporate communications professionals at about 3,000
companies. Its conference calls, webcasts, transcripts, call summaries,
and other financial information are subscribed to by over 15,000 Wall
Street professionals. The company has offices in Boston, San Francisco
and London.

o Declining Rates Send Internet Users Flocking to Mortgage Sites

New York, N.Y. -- Declining mortgage rates drove large numbers of
Internet surfers to real estate and mortgage web sites last week, according
to figures from Nielsen//NetRatings, a provider of Internet audience
measurement services based in New York. Traffic to real estate site
Home Gain skyrocketed 110% to 338,000 unique visitors for the week,
mortgage site Ameriquestmortgage.com soared 90% to 553,000 visitors
and Countrywide, another mortgage site, surged 49% to 307,000 unique
visitors. Homestore, Realtor.com and Coldwell Banker also saw similar
gains. "Savvy lenders have taken note of the many home buyers surfing
the Internet and have stepped up their online advertising efforts to reach
this group,' said Leslie Marable, a senior Internet analyst for
Nielsen//NetRatings.

o Auto Data Network Raises $16.5 Million in Private Stock Sale

New York, N.Y. -- New York-based Auto Data Network, a provider of
software and data services for the automotive industry, has raised $16.5
million in a private placement of stock. Investors in the round included
Alexandra Global Master Fund, China Development Bank, Tradewinds
Fund, Creedon Keller & Partners, and Crestview Capital Master. Auto
Data Network is a group of established companies that provide software
products and services to the automotive industry. The company offers a
line of software that helps auto dealerships to run their businesses more
efficiently. The majority of the company's current products are focused on
serving the aftermarket and finance areas of dealerships.

o Report: Web Sites Increasingly Tracking Users for Advertising Stats

New York, N.Y. -- Reuters.com is the latest in a string of major online
news web sites to engage the services of Washington-based Revenue
Science Inc., a provider of online behavior tracking technology. Along
with Reuters.com, Revenue Science announced on Friday that the
Financial Times, a major U.K.-based news service, is also using the
company's technology to aggregate user information in order to better
define its readership for advertisers. Other customers include sports site
ESPN.com and The Wall Street Journal Online. "It's much more powerful
for the advertiser to say, 'Here's the audience I want,' and for the publisher
to come back and say, 'Here's the audience you can get,' " Omar Tawakol,
senior vice president of marketing for Revenue Science, told Dow Jones.

o Briefly noted:

(New York, N.Y.) Performing rights organization ASCAP (The American
Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) announced on Thursday
that it has reached licensing agreements with digital jukebox
manufacturers TouchTunes and Ecast, covering the rights to perform
music from ASCAP members on their jukeboxes in bars and restaurants.
Financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed. Under the deals,
ASCAP will receive detailed reporting information from both companies
on which songs are played on their jukeboxes, in order to accurately
compensate artists for their works. Separately, San Francisco-based Ecast
said it has also secured a licensing agreement with the other large
performing rights organization in the U.S., BMI (Broadcast Music
International).

(New York) Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM)
announced this week that it has already sold more than 3 million tickets
online for both 2004 spring training and regular season games, a 130%
increase over the 1.3 million tickets sold online at this same time last
season. The company said it sold a total of 7.4 million tickets online for
the 2003 season. Major League Baseball Advanced Media was sued
earlier this week by former web partner RealNetworks, over a disputed
contract to stream baseball games using Real's delivery format.

(Edison, N.J.) Video game developer Majesco said on Thursday that it
has licensed TV properties from 4Kids Entertainment for inclusion with
its product for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance that allows video playback
on the portable game console. New Jersey-based Majesco said a total of
12 episodes of 4Kids series, such as "Yu-Gi-Oh!," "Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles" and "Sonic X," will be distributed along with its Game
Boy Advance video accessory.
